SOUTH ROOM

The South Room has many items that were essential to the survival of early settlers. In this room there is also a interesting display of military items From Fort Bascom. Fort Bascome was founded in 1863 during the Civil War, ten miles north of Tucumcari, located on the south bank of the Canadian River. Fort Bascom sent out several expeditions against the southern plains tribes, even on led by Kit Carson in 1864
